Post Glass recycling

I have done some googling about this but nothing helpful came up. Is there a place in Round Rock (West preferrably) that accepts glass for recycling?
And how about corrugated cardboard?
Please let me know.

There is no curb-side collection in RR? In Austin, the cardboard has to be tied in pretty little bundles (which is quite the pain) but is also picked up curbside....

As far as curbside goes, they stopped taking glass years ago. It's not profitable enough.

They take cardboard curbside - but only for trash, not recycling. No glass at all for recycling. Seriously annoying, coming from the PNW where our recycling bin was twice the size of our trash can - and you threw in everything recyclable.

Glass is not profitable enough, hmm.... Guess it is not too profitable, but there is SOME value in it, so it ought to be able to pay for some of the cost. We use glass baby food containers because they are more recycleable (instead of the plastice). COA only takes No. 1 and No. 2 plastics...

But as to your original question, I don't know any specific places, sorry. Ecology Action takes all sorts of stuff, but not sure on any RR locations.

I live in West Round Rock as well. I drive the stuff that Round Rock doesn't take down to Ecology Action downtown after it builds up to be a big enough load. It gives me a good excuse to have a weekend lunch downtown while I'm there.

Default Ecology Action of Texas

They list a drop off station in Cedar Park on 1431 west of 183, but that's not too far from west RR.

There is curbside recycling, but not for corrugated carboard or glass, which is a too bad... One gets so much of those materials everyweek!

Yes, they take only plastic 1 and 2 here as well.

When I called and asked about the glass they told me that it is a public hazard if they dropped bottles when picking up the glass and they broke. Mmhhh... I don't know about that. The non-profitable theory sounds more credible to me.

Not to mention all the multiple uses you can give to those neat little ones. All sorts of crafts and storage, etc

The City of Austin picks up my glass and fiberboard boxes every week in my recycling bin. For large items like broken glass panes, these are picked up twice a year during the bulk item pickup.

I'm unknowing of the City of Round Rock solid waste disposal services or policies.
