Default Austin schools and apartments

We are planning to move from Harrisburg PA to Austin in Mid Nov. I would like to get some info on good schools and apartments in the austin area. We will look at buying a house some time in the summer of 08. I will be working in the downtown area. My kids are in the elementary school.

Default Austin info

There are good schools in South Austin and North of Austin - in Round Rock and Cedar Park. It really matters what your price range is and what you are looking for. Dripping Springs is also really nice if you are looking for a more country feel. Your commute to downtown depends on the time of day and what part of downtown.

I used to work off of 5th street and had a 30 minute commute from my home (with back roads, it takes and hour on the main roads).

South Austin has a laid back feel and North Austin feels more big city (in my opinion).
