Barton Creek Mall, Highland Mall and Lakeline Mall are all fairly respectable malls...not in the Galleria league, but then again, this isn't Houston! For 'upscale' shopping, yes, the Domain (Neimans, Burberry, Tiffany, Mac store- cosmetics and ipods!- , and a soon to come Nordstrom) and also the Arboretum (Saks). Don't forget the outlet malls in San Marcos (HUGE!). Then there are all the fashion districts...2nd st., 5th and Lamar, Burnet, South Lamar, South 1st, South Congress. Austin not being a shopping town? ARE you kidding?

You referred to me in your post but I was quoting that poster. I love shopping, you got me confused with the person that said all of that stuff. Just wanted to clarify.

southwest person, pretty much everyone I see at Barton Creek or the Domain are young Dallas type girls running around spending their cash. You obviously don't get out much to know that the people spending their money at the malls are in their twenties. I'm not even going to respond to anymore of your comments, they are unfounded.

The malls, in my experience, are filled with teenages either a) spending their parents money, or b) just hanging out not spending any money at all . There are the 'older' people shopping, but it is hard to clasify them, they are from across the board. Austin is really not much of a 'shopping' town, also just in my own personal experience.

Sorry .........I still think that recreational shopping is a waste of time and money,
but I'm a guy, so what do I know? You could also say that guy things like tailgating
at Longhorn games or hanging out at strip clubs are time wasters as well. Just a matter
of what side of the gender fence you are on, I guess. And that Y'all was cute, Mimi.
I love texas colloquialism's. I wish I saw more of them on here....
