Default Anyone employed at Seton or St. David's?

If you are then please list your job title and the pros and cons. I am looking at these two companies for employment when I relocate, but haven't seen anything about people working here.

My husband works for Seton Medical. Benefits are good. The health insurance kicks in after 30 days (instead of the customary 90 days). We found that both Seton and St. David's have a s-l-o-w turnaround for applicants. Maybe it's HR or just their systems. Are you an RN?

My wife works there. The medical benefits are not as good as my job and a little more expensive, but maybe they are good relative to other jobs...I'm really not sure. The 403b plan match is not that great, but physician salaries can be quite high, so I guess they can't really match more.

I was a pharmacy tech at Brackenridge (in the Seton network) for several years. When I left, they were switching out the software (it was a big mess). They have electronic charting, etc. As another poster said, the benefits are okay, but not great - and they raised the rates once while I was there. They had layoffs in HR and other admin departments. They were really squeezing every penny they could. The pharmacy department was good - they were wonderful about scheduling around school, etc. We were a very tight-knit group.

Some friends of mine (also Rx techs) left Brackenridge and went St. David's in downtown. They say it's much less stressful, more organized, etc., but their co-workers are a pain.

Thanks for your reply. I have worked in Pharmacy for the past 13 years. I am now out of outpatient and work in an administrative role of the pharmacy. I have been thinking about getting my technician license in Austin. What is the job outlook for Techs there? What about salary? Also, I am partial to inpatient pharmacy. Is there room to advance to hospital pharmacy in Austin?

The poster above was right. Seton was very slow to respond. I had one call about a position after applying for about ten. When I returned the recruiter's call, she never called me back. I ended up securing a job with the State anyway and I love it. I was just surprised that I never got a call back even with all of my experience in the medical field.
