Piers needs to shut the hell up and stick to celebrity interviews.
But Jones was the initiator of the petition to deport Piers Morgan. Piers can't be accused of ducking the man or the issue when he brought him onto the show. Because of the petition, it made perfect sense to bring Austin's favorite conspiracy theorist, instead of a surrogate.

And Piers intends to continue to discuss gun control on his show, so you'll get your chance for the "intelligent and well-versed proponent" you seek.

Alex Jones positively makes Piers Morgan look rational and reasonable by comparison - perfect foil for him and great opportunity to make anyone taking opposition look like a crazed conspiracy theorist black helicopter paranoid.

I'm not actually referring to the petition issue; I'm referring to Pier's obvious vitriol toward American gun laws, which has prevented him from showing journalistic integrity and honesty on this subject. Having Alex Jones on the show was a brilliant plan to further demonstrate his opinion that American gun owners are all nuts ... somewhat akin to every news story featuring a Cannabis dispensary filming only young long-haired hippie stoners patronizing the establishment. It's intellectual dishonesty, and Piers excels at this.

He had such a guest a couple weeks ago - Larry Pratt, Executive Director of Gun Owners of America, and was incredibly rude, defensive, and insulting to the man, calling him "stupid", an "idiot", "dangerous", and said he "shames his country".

So yea ... I'm still waiting for that intelligent and well-versed debate, but am not expecting to see that coming from Piers Morgan.

But even the wack-jobs have other wack jobs that listen, he's just the loudest one.
Don't you think that Bill Maher and the others believe their nonsense? I certainly don't get my news from them- or from Piers Morgan for that matter!

What does this have to do with Austin?

Does the OP want censorship in Austin? Would you feel better if City Council did one of their proclamations that they disagree?

Back to the original question - 'Austin' doesn't give him a platform, talk show host do and people all over the place that 'like' his schtick. He just happens to reside here (I guess he does, anyway).

So he lives in Austin. So what?

So does Lloyd Doggett and Jim Hightower.
