I haven't been there in some time, but it has grown quite a bit. As a town in it's own right, it does have a really cute downtown area. It's not just a recently sprung up bedroom community.

It is now, but won't be for long. Most of the building going on now is commercial.

Leander gets more retail - Austin Business Journal:

Here's a link with a video clip about the future of Leander, especially about the TOD (transit oriented district)

KLRU: Austin Now > Politics & Government

Here's a website with info on another interesting development

I know the medical community somewhat in G' Town. Somewhat closed. St. Davids controls that hospital. Seton is up the road and so is Scott and White on I-35. Also Community Health is building a hospital there. If you get on staff at Seton you are somewhat better off since they are a big 501A in the area and they negotiate with the insurance companies. If you are on your own...better if you can survive the signup period for insurance companies. Don't look for them to help you out. They don't have control.
Some doctors have come and gone in that area. With the new hospitals there it will get interesting as they compete for doctors and patients.

Georgetown Texas - Edward is on a distinguished road
We live in Georgetown and our doctor is in Round Rock. He goes to our church, Hill Country Bible Church, so we love and trust him. If you want to speak with him regarding some of your questions, let me know and I'll give you his number/email, I know he'd be happy to help with what he can.
