ok i looked it up on yahoo maps. it is north of 183 and around I 35 in North Austin. this is a very suburban area that is in the city limits of Austin and Travis County but Pflugerville Schools. Houses are listed for $125-250,000.

Lots of stripmall shopping centers (Techridge area), Super Target, big HEB, big Dell corporate campus, lots of apartments, and lower end housing. Tons of chain type restaurants as well (Parmer/I-35 area).

Just wanted to know if those on this list with some real estate savvy think that this Heritage Hills area would be a good place to buy a house, or a bad place.
I know other areas in Austin are marketed as "hot," like 78745 (for those like me who can't afford 78704) and even 78741 now, or the east Austin - Mueller area of 78723.... and I don't think this area is one of those "hot" areas. But would it be unwise to buy a home in Heritage Hills? I'm interested, but I'm wondering if I'd be able to sell the house in 5 or 7 or 10 years, if I wanted to. I tried to look online at the city plan, but it has yet to undergo a current rezoning or plan review. Advice? Thoughts? The houses there are pretty nice, I thought, the neighborhood quiet, and it's only 6 miles from downtown.... |
