It's obvious it's not one or two.

Are you talking about Keith Chandler? Because he and some other "Forest Creek Proper" residents who are insistent to make this a bitter feud, like those working to errect a monument in the middle of Links Lane (in someone's FRONT YARD), are the ones who pursued the media, not the residents of "Baja Forest Creek". Those residents are smart enough to know that press about shady real estate deals in their subdivision would not be good for resale values.

The FC resident who persued the media for this latest blow out (the section war) actually posted on the FCHOA owned messageboard that he was contacting the media because he felt he would garner support for the FCHOA on this issue. I don't think this is what he intended... but the comment "You reap what you sow" kinda sticks out for me.

As for the disability thing - this would have never gotten to the media if we had a board that listened (or even faked it) to their residents. "Interesting topic, get your research together for the next meeting." would have gone a LOOOONG way.

Jenbar,

Are you actually a resident in the original FC? You don't seem to mind being a part of the group reported in the media(the statesman articles) as snobby and hateful. Aren't you worried about the value of your house? My main problem with all this press is that you can always find the horrid people anywhere, but making it look as though everyone shares their views is inaccurate.

Yes, I am in the original FC. I am here for the long haul - so I am not worried about selling & value right now. I don't think the articles make the every day resident look bad, I think it makes the board and their choices look bad. I mean the most noteworthy and shocking quotes come directly from our President, and having had lengthy direct interactions with him - he really is that way. There is no spin. I think we should be pushing back on our board for change and I welcome the meeting in January when at least 2 board positions will be open.

I think the statesman articles have focused on the board, and quotes specifically from Keith Chandler - not on those living here. The first article in the statesman even had current residents of the older section speaking out against Chandler and actions the board has taken. It's clear that we are where we are because of the board, and their continued misrepresentation of facts and scenarios.

Moderator cut: orphaned

Anyway, wanted to add - it's not all about "home value" to me, I am a big proponent of "doing what's right" and I am a firm believer that we, or our board, is not acting in the interest of "what's right".

I, also, am a firm believer in "doing what's right" and I just don't see this as being so black and white. The way Keith is being accused of being so horrible, that's not the right way to treat anyone, regardless of his fault in the situation. He brought to light the problem in the first place, in the interests of doing what he thought was right. Why aren't you defending his position? Because you think he had other motives? Doesn't that information come from gossip? Is believing and repeating gossip "the right thing"? I just think a bunch of people have gone out on a limb asserting that their understanding of the situation is the complete picture, and I think we should remain open to the possibility that Keith was not acting out of bad intentions and was really doing what he thought was in the best interests of the community.

I guess anything is possible. Pretty unlikely, but possible.

Based on the actual FACTS of the scenario - researched facts that have been brought to light (meeting minutes, info from the other side, etc), I do not believe that not annexing these sections is within our best interest, nor are we "doing what's right".
