Default Any comments on Ryland homes & Forest Creek?

M husband and I are in the process of selling our current home so we can move into something bigger. Today we came across Forest Creek in Round Rock and fell in love with some plans that Ryland has to offer. Does anyone have a comments, positive or negative, about Ryland homes and/or Forest Creek?

We have 2 little ones (under 5). Thanks!

No No No - do not buy into the "new" section of Forest Creek. BIG BIG lawsuit about to be filed against Ryland, Bowen, the developer and the FC HOA for DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES. You would not be buying into the existing Forest Creek HOA - you would be in FCIII which is different, and several of those sections in FCIII have "opt-out" HOA options, many people not paying dues because of pending litigation, NO amenity center - one promised, but NO BOND proving the developer will pay for it and not leave the neighborhood with a huge bill.

I can't even begin to tell you the HUGE mess it is - and relations with the "older" or "existing" area of Forest Creek are NOT GOOD.

That being said, if you get an AMAZING DEAL, like a giveaway of a home - and are not worried about all I said above, and don't intend on moving any time soon (like 10 yrs)... then, it's absolutely the BEST group of neighbors you will find. Some of my best friends live there, and I still get together with the neighborhood groups on a monthly basis.

Jenbar, can you share the source of this info. What I heard from radio other day was that it was a subdivision in Manor (or towards Elgin) the residents are suing the builder. And the builder was Lennar.

That is likely something else entirely.

I have a close affiliation with those who have obtained legal counsel and I used to live in this section of FC, when we first moved here and were renting. It's why we didn't buy the house we were in.

I currently live in the "existing" area of FC.

I know the statesmen is working on an article. I, and many people I know, have been interviewed for it.

Wow. I really appreciate your input. I don't know what to think of this right now. After weeks of searching my husband and I had finally agreed, and were about to put a deposit down. I don't want to move into a neighborhood that already has bad feeling towards the other residents. I am just completely bummed right now!

I would be happy to talk to more you about it in a non-public venue (PM, email, etc).

What did they tell you about an Amenity center??

Also - did they tell you about any lawsuits? Or did they say you were IN Forest Creek??

They are really shady...

Thanks again Jenbar!

I sent you a private email through the boards. It's says it will include mine. Let me know if you don't get it (I'm still new at using these boards)
