i'm all for progress on the mass transit front and look forward to a quicker and more comfortable ride. unfortunately i don't think that's what i will get. instead of having a bus stop every 10 to 15 minutes near my residence that goes downtown (#1l and 1m route), i will now have service every 20 to 40 minutes and then need to change at the south congress transit center. only a minor inconvenience. if the "feeder" bus that serves my stop is on time then the extra step might not be too bad. capmetro just spaced the rapid bus stops quite far away between little texas lane and the south congress transit center. i don't mind walking a mile to the transit center, but i don't consider walking on south congress near ben white to be pedestrian friendly or safe. i hope for the city that this new system is a success and just the start of more projects.
