I will be working at the location near S Mopac Expy Austin, TX 78746.

I am planning to stay in Austin for a month or 2 . I am new to Austin and I am planning to book a room at the following location :

Extended Stay America - Austin - Arboretum - South,
*Formerly Homestead Studio Suites*,
9100 Waterford Centre Blvd.
Austin, TX 78758

Is it safe ? Is the neighborhood safe ?
Is there any other option nearby ?

I found the above mentioned hotel because it is in my budget.
Is it safe for a single woman to stay ?

It's funny they are calling it "Arboretum South", that's a stretch location-wise. I'm thinking that's pretty safe but don't know for sure. The pocket of extended stays adjacent to Whole Foods at Gateway Marketplace (in the triangle of Mopac, 183 and Capitol of Texas Blvd.) offer much better amenities in the way of grocery shopping, restaurants, and access and would probably be considered a little safer (?) but likely more expensive.

All of these properties are located in this area:
Courtyard Austin Northwest/Arboretum
Embassy Suites Austin – Arboretum
Hyatt Place Austin Arboretum
Hyatt House Austin Arboretum

Just on other other side of CofTX Blvd but same area:
TownePlace Suites Austin Northwest
Staybridge Suites Austin Arboretum (several of our OOT guests have stayed here and all have said it is very nice)

Do not stay here, however: Extended Stay America Austin - Arboretum -- My parents did and encountered a major bed bug issue.

I always try to stay at Staybridge Suites whenever I travel - every single one of them has been above exceptional, so you won't go wrong with them most likely. You'll be safe around the Arboretum area, Round Rock, anything along 183 north, etc.

I've stayed at several of the hotels on this listed above. I'm going to agree that ending up in the Gateway area is a far better choice if there isn't a massive price difference. For one, it gets you a little further from the highway so it's a lot quieter. You can also walk to Whole Foods, a bunch of restaurants, and some shopping. I found that if you're there for a week (or more), and the weather is good, a short walk to grab dinner made a big difference between it feeling like a hotel vs. living there. Alternatively, it's probably 90 seconds in a car vs. traversing the frontage roads to pick up food (since you'll be there a while).

On the actual hotels:
The Hyatt House had the most apartment-like layout in that its buildings were separate from each other. You parked near yours and it's a short walk in.
I've stayed at the Staybridge further up 183 (near McNeil & 183) - I'm guessing it's similar to the one in the Arboretum. Comfortable, nice. If you can swing a room with the bedroom it feels more roomy. Also had free washer/dryers near the lobby if I recall.
Embassy would not be a bad choice, but it's more hotel-like and a bit more expensive.

Actually , I checked prices at other places and they are pretty expensive as compared to 'Extended Stay America - Austin - Arboretum - South'.

So I want to book this hotel but still I am not sure about its safety. Since the price is low, will it attract unpleasant crowd too?
Is it safe for a single woman to stay in a hotel alone for a month?

I have stayed there on brief visits back to Austin and I liked it fine. I thought it was a very good option for its price and location. Although I stayed there with my husband, I think I would also be comfortable staying there alone.

Here are some reviews from tripadvisor (if the link works):
Extended Stay America - Austin - Arboretum - South (TX) - Hotel Reviews - TripAdvisor

Good luck.

(Edited to add: You might also look into AirBnb Austin. You might find something there that feels safer and more like home for a one-month stay alone. https://www.airbnb.com/s/Austin--TX)

Is there a reason you chose that northern area of town? If your work is on S Mopac and if you will be commuting during rush hour you might want a place on the south side of town instead, like
Austin - Southwest, Overview - Extended Stay America

I'll agree with this approach, even though the ESA isn't available. Unless you have a towncar with a driver , cutting out that commute and wasted time would be worth 'something'. I'm way up north; but surely a fellow C-Der can point you toward something fun AND closer.

And that brings up the question...what weeks are you here? Does your time frame overlap any of the 'Fests' or F1 or anything like that? Could make a big difference.(I know...F1 isn't likely since it's months away...but you get the idea. )
