Hello!
My husband and I are planning to relocate to the Austin area in the next couple of months. We have 3 young children under 7. Both my husband and I telecommute, so driving isn't an issue. First and foremost in importance is an excellent neighborhood for our children. We would love to have a community pool and possibly playground for our kids as well. Our price range is $250-$300K. Any tips or suggestions would be very much appreciated!! Thanks!

Wisconsin, North Carolina, Tennessee, Colorado, Texas(did I leave any out?) since late 2010?

Sounds like an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

Some very recent discussions on just your topic. Take a spin around by searching for the particular city and you'll likely get plenty of general info. Then, we can dig into specifics.

Welcome to Texas! (however briefly )

Sendero Springs in Round Rock is a possibility in your price range. Avery Ranch, Forest Oaks in Cedar Park - really, the list is long. Can you give a better idea of what you're looking for (size of house, age of house, do you or do you not want to live in an HOA neighborhood or do you not care, where you'll be commuting to, etc.)? That would make it easier to answer your question usefully.

Yes, like THL said, the list is very long at that price range up in this area. There are LOTS of communities that fit the bill where you can buy in that price range.
