I had to drop Sprint, my wife is in sales & she would get dropped calls all the time & we had no service in our area of dripping springs.

We chose Verizon based on reports from others in the area. My wife drives all over Austin, Georgetown, Lago Vista, etc. and has had great service for 2 years.

I also know people who use AT&T and are very happy.

I've got Verizon. My wife has Sprint.
We have lived in north Austin and south Austin.
Both companies have been good enough in both locations - Verizon definitely better.

Keep in mind that you can get discounts on whatever Sprint plan you have -- somewhere on the order of 20% either corporate (depending on your employer) or "loyalty" (otherwise) discount. It is critical that you are about to have your contract end -- that gives you the leverage. Don't just go to a store and renew it, if you decide to stick with sprint check out this site: SprintUsers.com - Search Results and search on "retentions" ... best method seems to be to call and select "cancel service", you'll be connected to retentions, then try to get a discount & free phone by saying you are jumping ship for a better deal. You may have to try several times.
Thanks for the tip!
