No. It's just a silly, meaningless game in the overall scheme of things.

My neighbor across the street from me is a huge Aggie's fan. She thought it was pretty funny to teach my niece the Aggie fight song, since my BIL is a huge Texas fan. My sister got a kick out of it when she came home actually humming it!

I couldn't figure out why it seemed like everyone was wearing this weird color orange shirt. Then I saw the longhorns logo on one of them and said to myself: Toto, I'm not in Phoenix anymore!
That's funny, we had that very same HEB/UT game day experience when we first moved here from CA!!! I thought it was crazy, but the city wide support is pretty cool. That burnt orange color has grown on me...

And i truly think it depends on your life...for us, we are raising little ones, so downtown nightlife is definatley not a concern for us! That is like the Gas Lamp Distict in San Diego, full of young college types, but when was the last time i was there?? Uh, 10 years ago when i first met my husband, (and i was young)would i go there now, NO...I'd love a nice dinner and early to bed!!

I look forward to a new different life, and i think it all depends on an individual situation!!

I totally agree Craven, it depends on your life and what your wanting out of your relocation experience. We moved to Kyle (just south of Austin) in July of 2006 from north county coastal San Diego, and we have loved it here from the MOMENT we arrived. We didn't come here with grand expectations. We were just seeking a new start, with less stress, and wanting an easygoing life and the opportunity to buy a home. We got it all.

Gaslamp Quarter... O those were the days!! We have little ones too, and we're FINALLY getting out on Thursday night to see Slightly Stoopid (ska/reggae/rock/blues band from OCEAN BEACH--Yes, our OB in SD... and not at all stupid) at Stubb's. We can't wait.
