We've had Vivint (formerly APX) for about 6 years and have been very pleased. Every door and window into our house is wired and monitored (including the overhead garage door), we have glass-break and motion-detection, and we have a monitored fire/smoke alarm system. We have set it off a few times, and their response has been amazing - once, right after we built our home, we got an alert and they had the police there in no time, since neither of us was home. (It ended up being a sensor that had fallen out, after being installed wrong by the builder). We pay about $45/month, and that includes two keypads and three remote key fobs.

Thank you for the feedback.

We chose the basic included wiring package on our home that is being built. It will have all entry doors covered and general 'contacts' on the doors. No prewire on the windows unfortunately (thought cost was crazy through them).

I will definitely check with each service and see what there options are based on what our house will be wired on.

You don't need a land line.

What I am looking for I guess is general home coverage for doors/windows, keypad/wiring is already done (building a new home), and I assume everyone offers app capabilities standard now?!?

Budget I am imagining is less then $40/50 a month? (is that reasonable for basic+app monitoring?)
If you are handy, you should check out Alarm Relay. You will have to install the equipment yourself, but it's quite easy. Their fee is $9 per month if you have a land line.

Professional Security & Alarm System Monitoring only $8.95 month

We simply don't buy the calling center thing................. used ADT.......... too costly...............

My bother in Phili PA is getting a kit too.

The alarm is call AAS alarm............ customer service is decent...........

Good luck to you on finding a nice system.

8 out of 10 of your posts are promoting AAS Wireless Alarm, how long have you worked for them?
