They're fixing it, and as I describe in the responses to that post, this would actually make the G/L corridor look _better_ than it is.

Now THAT is comedy gold! The Mueller goes from perhaps the best route to the biggest wasteland on the map.

Well that pretty much torpedoes one of the major reasons for the Mueller alignment, and makes selling the bond package much harder because anyone will point at the old data and say Connect purposefully lied to try and get their way (I'm not sure the root cause was intentional, but it seems to be a case of not vetting data which supported what they want). That ups the already high unlikelihood of getting a mueller rail bond package through because many in the city already have animus toward the Mueller project for one reason or another.

I really hope they see the writing on the wall for this one. It is pretty much G-L or bust.

When I went to one of the meeting of Project Connect someone mentioned, non-officially of course, that the "deadline" to get the layout finalized and bond package onto the ballot was "before 10-1". They know that light rail would be DOA or at least massively delayed before a 10-1 council.

Put rail rail where there is already density. Mueller seems to be based off "what can be" instead of making an immediate impact. Hopefully, Austin doesn't make the mistake Houston did and build rail at the expense of a good bus system.

"... and not along Red River, which is a residential area not projected for future density adequate to support light rail."
