Round Rock is very nice. Great schools. It really matters on which part of Round Rock for the classes, but I would say it varies between middle to middle-upper class.

The city of Round Rock is a huge suburban part of the Austin metro area. There are tons of really nice neighborhoods and some not so good areas. It has an older downtown street that's kinda cute. The school district is a good one, but the schools are not all the same. I"d check out google earth or something similar to get an idea of how big it actually is...

I moved to Round Rock West, an older part of Round Rock, and I love it. No kids myself, but everyone assures me it's a great school district. Small town located pretty close to Austin, so the best of both worlds. The newer parts of Round Rock are just subdivisions like you see everywhere else, but I like the older parts of town quite a bit.
Stuff to do...we mostly run into Austin since it's nearby, but we also enjoy the local parks.

We love Round Rock, moved here in Aug from a suburb of Seattle. Check this forum for a site to look at school ratings, we found a great school here and bought a house down the street. It's a very kid friendly area with lots of large parks, etc.

What's wrong with that? Are conservatives evil people? You should explain more if you are going to make such a random statement.

Look no further than our own:
Round Rock, Texas (TX) Detailed Profile - relocation, real estate, travel, jobs, hospitals, schools, crime, news, sex offenders
61,000 is low. People say it's over 80K population now.
Conservative? Isn't that every city in TX except Austin?
