Default Lake Travis area public schools??

My husband and I are in are early 30's and are moving to the Austin area due to his work. We need to be within 40 minutes of the major airport and we would like to be in an area with good schools and would LOVE to live on Lake Travis. Which towns in the Lake Travis area have the best schools and good demographics? We can spend up to $900,000.

We know very little about Austin, so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank YOU!!

I would search in 78734 zip code. I don't think you're going to find anything approaching lake frontage any closer in for under $1MM. In our neighborhood, which is still Austin proper and has lakefront lots on Lake Austin, the homes are selling for $3M+.

78734 you might get something in a cove off Lake Travis with a slip for under $900K. At the very least you should be able to get something with really great views. However, I don't know that you'll be within 40 minutes of the airport. It would be pretty tight. But you'd be in Lake Travis ISD which is very well rated.
