When did cable and Net access get so expensive?

We have TWC also and have 2 DVRs ($6.95/month for each box), digital cable, and basic Internet access and it's $140/month.

I have had mixed feelings with TWC. Their service is ok, their DVR is pathetically slow and the menu systems do not provide a consistent user experience (they suck). The internet speed is smoking fast for downloads - wish the uploads matched.

We have digital phone, digital cable (1 HD DVR & 1 cable box), and internet for about $135 per month which seems high to me. I do like the caller ID on the phone, that's handy. They charge $4 per month for voice mail. They had to come out 2 or 3 times to get the installation right.

I actually liked Dish Network and the ability to customize your channel lineups to see only what you subscribe to. TWC has literally over 1000 channels on their line up, takes 30 minutes to see what is on and that doesn't include the on demand offering - which are pretty cool though.

I am interested in AT&T's fiber optic package when it's available with HD TV channels since I already use themfor wireless.
