I am moving to Austin (Circle C) in two weeks. Does anyone know of a house cleaning service we can use before we move in? I also need a gardener every two weeks. I would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks everyone.

Highly recommend The Cleaning Authority. We had an initial deep cleaning with them a few weeks ago and were highly impressed by their attention to detail (things I never would've thought to clean, and we're pretty clean people!) I really wish we would've had them come do a deep clean before we moved in, would've saved us a lot of time scrubbing tile grout and painstaking things like that.

Try to find the message boards for the neighborhood and post there. I've found house cleaning and landscaping services tend to be 'sharper' when they have other customers in the area(like next door). For a serious deep-clean before move-in, I'd look for an expert like a make-ready crew. I'm 30 miles north, so I'm no help with actual references down that way.

Thanks everyone, I did get an estimate from 3 cleaning companies and am getting a quote ranging from $500-$600. Is it that expensive to get the house cleaned? The house was professionally cleaned by the previous owners when they moved out. But I still want it cleaned and sanitized for my peace of mind. I am still trying to get quotes from more companies. Any more recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks again

Six hundred bucks for an empty house!? Wow!!! Our 3600 sq ft house got pretty darned clean for $150 and that included dealing with furniture etc. If the carpet got cleaned 'professionally', I'd skip that altogether.

I wonder if you're getting quotes for a deep clean, which doesn't sound like what you need if you're just looking for sanitization.

DW handled all that. I'll get her to find the number. It was a three-woman 'crew'...honestly don't know if they are bonded, insured, etc...came recommended by some other Avery Ranch folks.

Upon further review, I think DW paid $300 including tip for the final clean...more plantation shutters, etc than normal cleaning. Still, a good ways away from $500-600

For getting my lawn done, I use "Dream Lawns," which is local, right here in Circle C. So it's easy to call them or email and get anything extra done on short notice. I also had them clean out my gutters a couple times a year. dreamlawnsofaustin@gmail.com
