Seems like a positive for downtown and touristy activities. But as an actual commute solution? Not so sure.

From where to where? That's really important - are you proposing putting these things all over the city of Austin, or just downtown, say? Is it a "drive to a tram station and then take the tram" proposal or what?

I really don't know who either of you are talking to. If it's me, both of the responses you personally made were knee jerk rude, and there's no call for that.

If THL was talking to me (though that wasn't referenced) I'm not a transportation expert, but yes, I'd envision stops along the way. This concept reminds me of stretches of the DC metro. That we need long range planning for transportation via something like this, maybe not exactly like this, rather than more roads, is a big Duh. We're wasting money building (or considering building) roads that soon become not enough, money that would be better spent seriously considering and then constructing new and better ways of doing things.
