How about a real zoo, a museum of natural science, and an amusement park (like a Six Flags, or a water park). Most cities the size of Austin have all 3.

Mine too, but far too many parts of Austin can't say the same.

With the monkey cages oriented so they can sling crap at the legislators and the lobbyists. We'll need cages on the 11 Street and 15 Street sides. As you know, equal rights to all is so important to our leaders.

Seriously? A spaceport?

If I was to take a tunnel vision view for must my wants, I would say a coherent and complete hike and bike system throughout the city. I am *this* close to being able to bike to work (and even closer when they build the mopac/barton creek cycling bridge), and that would do more for me than most anything else while adding a minimal (I hope) tax burden.

As for zoos and amusement parks, I really, really can't rationalize the expense when there are excellent ones relatively close by (SA). I don't think we need to be just like every other city and leverage ourselves for the sake of pride.
