Hi Everyone,

We just moved to Austin few weeks ago and I just found that I'm pregnant. I am currently in the need of an OB/GYN. I'd prefer a female doctor.

I am looking for a dr who does not rush to do C-sections or inductions(unless absolutely necessary) has good bedside matters, listens, is compassionate, honest, and is good with first time moms.

Appreciate your help.

OBGYN North is probably a good bet. They are great on the compassionate/listening side, but the trains don't always run on time so to speak. PM me if you want more details.

Mesmer,

can you recommend any specific doctor in OBGYN North?

They cycle their OB patients through all the doctors/midwives. Can't remember the name of what that's called? I'll PM you.

Wayne Ingram. But he's male, as well. Otherwise, fits all your criteria.

Dr. Sebestyen and the midwives at OBGYN North are great, naturally minded, and will not push induction/section as long as you stay low risk. I did find them to listen and be compassionate, however they are a busy practice, like most, so you will have long waiting times for your appointments and the appointments will probably be in and out. If you are open to a midwife at a birthing center there are several of those in town and your care will be a lot more personal and nurturing.

Thanks mesmer, clarksvillemom, TexasHorseLady, and TXBeagle.

I don't think i'll be comfortable with a male doctor. Can you suggest me a female doctor?

I'm sure they're out there, but I don't know any that meet your other requirements.

TexasHorseLady,

What do you mean by other requirements? These are essential ones that every doctor should have, right?
