Lakeway
What about the town of Lakeway? I've heard that it is 45 minutes from the airport and has great schools.
I appreciate any information.

Lakeway is nice. It has nice parks (there is one there that we frequent) and good schools (Lake Travis ISD).
To the airport, I think it will take about 50-55 minutes on a good day, depending where in Lakeway you live. I drive to the airport often, and it takes me about 40 minutes on average from Steiner. So add about 10-15 minutes from Lakeway (or 20 to be safe).

Lakeway is a very affluent community with big homes. It has a beautiful city park with a sand beach on Lake Travis. Also has several hike and bike trails. There are duplexes and condos to rent. Duplexes are around $900 mo. I believe the condos are around $1200 mo. I've never heard anything negative about Lake Travis ISD.

Where I live is about 20 minutes from Lakeway and it takes me 25 minutes to get to the airport. That's not in prime time traffic though. Where you have to be careful is that you can drive for 20 minutes to get out of Lakeway to the main road, especially the closer you are to the lake. It's definitely a nice community and one worth looking at.

Lakeway is a great city with great schools. I work for a custom home builder and business has been pretty good. Things have slown down a bit in the housing market but not like the rest of the nation. If your looking to buy let me know.

I agree, I work in Lake Area and it is Great. The city of Lakeway is not the greatest for kids, there just isnt alot of them. But all of there Grandparents live there! If you likr that area and have kiddos, try Beecaves. Still LTISD and much more family oriented.

Lakeway Shopping
Speaking of shopping take a look at the new million square foot mall that just opened this month on the corner of 620 and 71. Right down the street from Lakeway! It has a movie theatre and about every kind of shopping you could image! Hill Country Galleria
