We are just down the road from there, I dont think you will have much trouble.. that area was a grassy field just a few years ago, not the rocky wooded terrain that the scorpions favor. Besides, the little things are really NBD ..
There was a kid in Plum Creek a few years back bit by a rattler, but she was cutting across the golf course in the long grass running, and barefoot Not a good idea!
She ended up being fine though.
Also remember the New Seton Hospital will be 2 min away when its done.
And lastly , Kyle will have a Starbucks in about a week... whouda thunk it...
Cheers

Seen a few - but they were really small and one was almost transparent looking. Killed them both a shoe just cause we have a cat that loves to play with insects. There is alot of building/construction in the area that is disturbing the insects/snakes natural habitat so they refuge in areas that are calm, such as developed areas. There are MANY spiders though - some as large as a small crab. We invested in a monthly pesticide service for the home and things are better now.

Actually I have lived in Kyle for 9 years and have yet to see a scorpion I have seen many in South Austin, but we do have snakes from time to time.

Chicken Ladie, if you picked your name because you own chickens then that is the reason you havent seen a socrpion in 9 years around your house. Chickens are great for keeping pests down. They will even take care of snakes if the find them small enough. Chickens are brutal. I swear they must be direct descendants of those really vicious Raptors you see in the Jurassic Park movies. If chickens weighed 50 pounds, humans couldn't walk the streets LOL.

I just moved into Buda. Had 2 scorps in the house when we moved in, but they were very small and quishy. We hired an exterminator that sprayed a 5 foot perimeter around the house for all bugs. There are corpses everywhere but no bugs of any kind inside.
