I much prefer a fried turkey to a smoked one. I know Hoovers does them, you just have to order in advance.

yes, where can you get fried turkeys in Austin? I had one in Louisiana and it was delicious!

I think they're still around

Fatboy Fried Turkeys - Austin, TX :: Fried turkey and other hotness for your next get together

I prefer smoked over fried, but variety is the spice of life! Get both and have tons of leftovers.

I love fried turkey, its actually the only way I really like it. Smoked is my 2nd choice. I will be checking this out also! We have all the gear to fry one but I am way too lazy.

Yikes a new Costco the week before Turkey day! That could prove to be interesting.

We are fairly new to the area but that whole HEB/Home Depot area y'all were talking about at 1431 and Parmer is the most ridiculous intersection/shopping center I have ever seen. I have no idea what anyone was thinking when they designed that nightmare. I like the Tomlinson's Pet store next to the HEB but otherwise I won't go near any of those stores/restaurants, its insane.

We never eat out for thanksgiving but 1 year we did due to flooding of my MIL's house. We ate at Bakehouse(south Austin) and it was excellent! Very traditional!
