Austin won't be affordable after this, but I can say that it's roads will still be horrible, traffic will still be bad, it's parks will still be overgrown with weeds, and now we have a $65,000,000 hole that we could have used to improve those things.

Where was Williamson County's affordable bond election????

oh wait, THEY SPENT IT ON PARKS AND ROADS.

Wilco is the place people who want to live in Austin but can't move to because it's cheap. Why would they AH?

Me, I'd rather listen to podcasts on a 45min commute and keep some more of my money.

The people of Williamson County are probably laughing at us right now. They're also relieved that the City of Austin is spending $65,000,000 to keep a few thousand poor people from moving to their suburban Williamson County neighborhoods.

Not me - we were happy to move here from Austin.

Ten Percent of the units will be reserved for the Children's Home Initiative, an FC program that combines reduced rents with intensified supportive services to help families achieve self-sufficiency.

With 140 units, that should add about 200-300 low income students into the Bowie HS feeder system. If you are a member of the Circle C Democrats, pat yourself on the back, and then go apologize to your fellow homeowners (assuming you are one)
Another reason to send my child to private high school. No thanks!

What middle school do these units track to?

Should also have a positive impact on crime in southwest Austin, too. Great!

It tracks to Cowan, Covington, and then Bowie. The poorest people in this place will be really poor, like $12K year income for a family of 4. Does anyone think this will lower the rating of Bowie? I hope not. It's already expensive here on the SW side, and now I have to worry about schools. Load of crap.
