Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA
Los Angeles-Long Beach scores well thanks to low pollen levels and a good climate.

Accept the smog in LA is horrible for asthma sufferers!

I always thought dry/arid places like elpaso in texas, arizona and such places were better for asthmatics.

I actually do have asthma and several allergies, some days depending on the ozone levels I have problems getting out of breath very easily-with little or no exertion.

But I suffer a lot more with allergies, my symptoms can get so bad and last at least 24hrs at a time sometimes longer and I am miserable, fatigued and drained.

The issue is that austin is actually not dry. We get more rain than seattle, it is just more concentrated.

You are thinking of Houston. Average yearly rainfall (from:National - Average Monthly Precipitation (http://www.met.utah.edu/jhorel/html/wx/climate/normrain.html - broken link)):

Austin -- 31.88"
Seatle -- 38.00"
Houston -- 46.07" (Seems like a lot... but just check the list for LA,GA and FL cities!)

Also, I think the poster was clearly referring to El Paso / West Texas, not saying that Austin was dry...
