As for Pflugerville, I am sadden by the residents out in BlackHawk. Stinks to have to choose toll road to be the only way to work and them homes are pretty over priced also.

Help me out with this one Mike....
What does this mean exactly?. I don't know the background obviously. There are other roads than toll roads in Pflugerville. What did the residents in BlackHawk do?.

I read in the Hutto paper that another large medical facility is going up somewhere on Gattis School rd. in RR now as well. So it looks like places North of Austin are becoming a mini medical center

Oh they did nothing. I actually have a buddy out in BlackHawk. I am just saying is when I go visit him I have to take the toll road to BlackHawk. Really is not alternative way to get there w/o pay from I-35 w/o going around to Round Rock or backroads of Pflugerville

Article: TEXT
It's no secret that Central Texas is one of the fastest growing areas in the country. And the city of Cedar Park is a prime example of that growth.
It's 20 miles north of Downtown Austin on U.S. 183.
A beautiful tree – one of the oldest in Cedar Park -- is strung with more than 45,000 lights for the holiday season.
The community dates back to 1873. But Cedar Park didn't officially become a town until 100 years later, when residents voted to incorporate in 1973.
The population in 2000 was 26,049. The population in 2006 was 52,058
That's an increase of almost 100 percent.
But in spite of all that growth -- you can still find traces of a slower, simpler time.
One example is the Steam Train Depot -- where holiday fantasies are coming true.

I think that you are talking about some medical offices that are going up @ Links and Gattis. Not a medical "facility" - just some doctor offices. AT THE FRONT OF A SUBDIVIDION!!! (new section of Forest Creek) It pretty much sucks.

Is it right there? That's a pretty narrow road for all that traffic. I'd be pretty angry if my house backed up to it.

How does somebody compare Austin and Cedar Park, and then call Cedar Park overcrowded? I was born and raised in Austin. Went to Dobie Jr High and Lanier High School.
Now I live in Cedar Park. Much better all around... And my kids certainly are not dealing with the same things in their high school as I did.

I'm glad to see that someone has started a thread concerning Cedar Park TX. I've lived in Northern Minnesota all my life and would like to get out of the cold. So I'm thinking of Cedar Park. I've never been there so it's just a guess. Does any one know if there are many retirement condo or retirement areas in or around Cedar Park? Any info would be appreciated.

Don't forget that when a community such as Cedar Park rates "better" than the city to which it is anchored (Austin), it still remains true that without the proximity to the larger metro area, the "ranking", or high rating could not be achieved.

Growth is growth.....if you look at it, I suppose any growth will cause problems and have the local gov't playing catch-up with infrastructure. Growth still beats stagnation hands down. Unfortunately, the developers have too much say per what they build, and they usually overshoot with the "Malling" aspect, and undershoot with parks, libraries, pedestrain walkways, jogging trails, and other things that make life more livable. It can still change, but you need strong local gov't and a critical mass of motivated locals to make it so. Cedar Park can be anything the residents want it to be. Yes, the developers so far have created a rather sterile environment wedded onto the old town, but that can be changed. There is still loads of potential waiting to be mined and used. It hasn't finished building out quite yet. Give it some time....
