Default IB ( International Baccalaureate ) schools, could someone help please?

It looks like the Austin Independent School District does not have any ib elementary schools, but the Round Rock does: Spicewood and Anderson Mill. Grisham is the Middle and Westwood is the HS.

Is the RRISD the way to go, or the AISD? I would hope that, being ib schools, there wouldn't be a big difference.

Default IB does exist in Austin

Hello!

Murchison Middle School and Anderson High School both offer the IB program and are in the Austin school district. Both are great schools and are in a great community. Check out their websites.

I d/k much about RR schools, so I can't really compare the two. Leander ISD is fantastic! We just recently moved from AISD to LISD and I'm very pleased so far. My dtr went to school at Doss Elem and now goes to Murchison and there's a lot of parent involvement (which makes a big difference).

We are in leander ISD and I know Grandview Hill elem is slated to be IB and the I know Leander HS has an IB program not sure about the middle schools and the area that Leande ISD services is a nice area not the area you don't want to live for safety reasons type of place.

LISD doesn't have an IB middle school, yet. I'm not sure when they plan to open one, but I bet they would soon if enough parents asked for it. Grandview is up and running as an IB elementary...

If your choice is between Austin and RRISD, I'd choose RR. Westwood is a nationally ranked high school.

I heard that Murchison is disbanding its middle school IB program and limiting it to Anderson (high school) only. Westwood also has an IB program and is a good, if highly competitive, school. I don't know of any elementary IB programs in the area.

Spicewood is located in a nice neighborhood and Anderson Mill is close to it. I think Anderson Mill is a lot more affordable and you have the bonus of the IB middle and high school. We've been looking at houses in that area but I think we're more SW kinda people though. We're still looking though!
