OH! The Funky Chicken Coop Tour! Thanks for the reminder! (I need no reminder of Eeyore's, having attended early early ones back in the day when I looked decent in a costume - won't go if I'm not in costume, it destroys the ambiance!).

Note to self: Find new awesome costume that looks great on an old lady. Go to Eeyore's while there's still time.

Don't understand the hype of Eeyores birthday. Pot, Beer, Drum Circles and Naked Women + kids, is not an appropriate good mix. I went once, wouldn't go back.

Then you probably shouldn't. I've enjoyed them off and on since almost the beginning. Your description is a very limited one, based solely on what you were able to see from your perspective. It's a certain free spirit celebration of the remnants of Austin's vibe that is disappearing right and left in the rush to be a big, big, big city like every other big, big, big city. I hope it goes on for at least another 51 years.

It's only inappropriate if you make it so. There is nothing sexual or illicit about it. It's an old-style hippie celebration of a children's cartoon character. If you ask me, kids need more stimulation of the "real" kind (instead of the touchscreen kind) to develop their brain, and this is an opportunity to do that. If it happens to include painted up topless women and drum circles that smell funny (in addition to egg tosses and maypole games), then so what? The kids will take something innocent and different out of the experience than you.

Since I have to spread it around more before repping you more (is it just me or is that oddly appropriate to this discussion?), here's your Rep and a BINGO! on top of it.

You must be a lot of fun. I agree, you should not go to it if you can't see anything in it to appreciate.

You don't appreciate people having fun. You don't appreciate people dressing up in silly costumes. You don't appreciate he human body. You don't appreciate community drumming and music circles. You don't appreciate people playing games and laughing together. You don't appreciate adults getting back in touch with their inner child or expressing their fantasies.

Yeah, you should stay home.
