If you're from Austin you KNOW how the heat gets here. one year we had a full week of 100+ degrees

so all the rain is a welcomed change up. and I don't care that my car keeps road grime on it from the water...lol

More rain expected later this week!

Uh - in 2011 year we have 3 months of 100+ degrees.

Although this has been an unusually pleasant start, it's much more similar to normal years where we only get a handful of 100+ degrees usually only in July and August.

Historically speaking, this is a 'normal' start to the summer....

You are correct.

More often than not it is pretty rainy through June, then is hot & dry until the end of September. At least that's what I've noticed the past 55 years in Central Texas.

Definitely keeping it cool into early summer. The summers that get awful here are when it is dry in May and June...August and September then become truly oppressive.

Travis is at 629.89 (current), and last year was 628.17 for June (average), so a bit higher. The lake went down a foot every ten days or so last summer, will have to see how it does this year. Cooler really helps avoid as much evaporation.

Just last year in 2013 I was stuck in traffic in April and it felt like 100+ that day. and I don't remember as much rain into June either.

That is music to my ears!
I have loved the last year and a half now as far as weather is concerned. It's been wonderful. Nothing like the first three/four years we moved here...felt like a furnace with never ending 100's. This summer so far is such a nice change.
