Why would anyone even want to go out to Circuit of Americas?
Well, in addition to the many different types of racing that goes on out there, every BIG concert seems to go through the amphitheater out there. It IS a really nice venue for music, btw. Been to two concerts out there, and leaving was not a really big deal. Ofc, a concert doesn't come anywhere near maxing out the crowds out there, so traffic is 'light', as well.

I was there both days and didn't see anything like the article states except for many heat-weary attendees.

Yes, very little shade. Wouldn't it be something for vendors to sell parisols at the X-games? Not likely with that crowd.

I did appreciate all of the water stations set up, something that was not there for F1.

it was super obvious last year that this place a cash grab, and providing quality entertainment is the least of their concerns. they get everyone in there, charge a load for parking, there is ZERO shade/trees in a location that has some of the hottest weather in the country... etc, they charge premium prices for water/food/booze, and the venue itself doesn't even have half the sound system or stage that most outdoor auditoriums do

i've been invited there for free a couple of times during summer last year.. the day I was supposed to go it was 104. forget about it.

just like sxsw, money first!

also.. its laughable that they spun the story to shift the blame on drugs. like sober people are immune to the scorching Texas sun
