I have heard and read plenty about the college kids' favorite hang out spots in Austin, 6 th Street being on top of the list, but what do the-not-so-young, yet not-so-old folks, with or without kids, do for fun in Austin? Thanks.

There are tons of hole in the wall places and dance halls that are pretty popular with the 30+ crowd. Many of them aren't in downtown Austin however, so sometimes a little bit of driving is needed.

Freddy's Place is pretty awesome. The food's horrible but the beer is relatively cheap, has a great South Austin atmosphere, and good live music. Parking sucks though.

The eclectic mix of events @ the alamo drafthouse. From master pancake theater, to quota alongs, and the numerous tv / food fests. You'll never go to another theater.
