A couple of weeks ago, Austin, Texas was announced to be more expensive on the affordability scale. I heard that has something to do with the necessity of having an automobile. I understand many people bicycle to work because the public transportation is not what a city of this size should be. Get a car, or bike to work when it is 85 degrees and humid by 8:00am, or use public transportation and have to walk a mile or so to get to your work place. Consider staying where you have roots.

By a New York City budget advocacy group. Consider the source.

This is about the 5th time you have made this statement on CD and it is most certainly false.

I can't stress this enough to potential yankees wanting to move to Austin:

The weather is warmer year round here. That includes the Fall months, which are usually real nice up north.

That means it's generally warmer in January and July, which you already know about, but also warmer in September and October, which you probably never thought about. Remember that cool and crisp 68 degree and sunny afternoon in mid September after the first cold front came through and you watched that Eagles/Steelers/Redskins/Giants/Jets/Patriots game, the leaves were starting to change, etc? Well, it was 95 degrees and very humid in Austin at that same time. People were sweating buckets at the UT game at the same time, commenting on how at least it's not as hot as it was in 2007 when it was 107 degrees in late September at an ACL Fest that had a dust storm or 95 degrees in mid October that same year... Did you ever think about that? Our record high in September is hotter than your city has ever gotten. We have days in October that may be warmer than your warmest June day. Oh, and you think May is perhaps better here? Well, if you're lucky, but I do remember in 2011 that it was 97 degrees in May for several weeks. Oh, but it's a dry heat, right? No, sorry. Yes, the hottest days are dry, but there are plenty of humid days. This past Saturday we had a garage sale and it was around 88 degrees and very humid, with occasional light rain. It was the kind of weather that they would issue "heat alerts" for in Chicago, but here it was considered "coolish" because it was overcast and rainy.

We are getting lucky, a cool front is coming in tomorrow and the lows will be in the mid 60's and highs in the mid 80's. That is considered "cool" for us. That would be considered a "summer cold front" up north...
