Default Texas information

I would like to hear some information on jobs, housing prices and taxes in TX. Are there areas in the country with property at a resonable price that are not too far away of a drive for shopping, work? We currently live in central FL and are ready to relocate. We both are health care workers. I am a respiratory therapist and my husband is maintance. Thanks for some help.

Like another poster mentioned somewhere else...there are many hospital/medical centers along 1431 in Cedar Park. Tax rate is 2.44% here (I've seen closer to 3% in surrounding areas, so expect somewhere in there). Housing could be anywhere from $80-$120 per square foot, give or take, just depends on a lot of other factors.
If you are in one of Austin's fast growing suburbs (CP, RR, Pflugerville, etc) you will be close to shopping.
