I have my 10 year marriage anniversary coming up. We have only lived in Austin for a little over 4 months. Still learning about the different places. Would like some suggestions as to what there is to do. Would like to take her to a really nice dinner, preferably something unique to Austin, TX.

Schlotzsky's is an Austin original!

But seriously folks...DW and I planned a trip to Enchanted Rock to celebrate our 10th...back in 2010 when we were DEEP into the drought. Little did we know that our plans would overlap the only cloudy, stormy weekend we had all fall!!! Still haven't made that trip.

Congrats! I'm a fast-casual kind of guy, so I'll let others make serious recommendations for dinner

We've done a few different places for our anniversaries:

Manuel's at the Arboretum
Vince Young Steakhouse downtown
Bartlett's at Anderson/Burnet
III Forks downtown (not anniversary, but date night)
Truluck's (not anniversary, but date night)

Of those, I liked Bartlett's the best. Great ambiance and phenomenal food. Unsure if any of them would be Austin-unique, but all have a different sort of vibe. III Forks was something right out of the show Dallas.

I saw Nicholas Sparks at Vince Young Steakhouse and Lance Armstrong at Bartlett's. That was pretty neat.

Good luck with your decision!

I don't think there is a better place for an anniversary than Eddie V's. First of all, despite its growth (and recent acquisition), it is an Austin original. Second, the food and service is second to none - there is none better in the city. Third, they really know how to put on the show for an anniversary - hand written notes, rose petals on the table when you arrive, etc.

Hands down, best choice.

Thank you everyone for the awesome suggestions. I think I gained 10 lbs just looking at the menu, yes even the Schlotzsky's menu. BTW, coach, thank you for the laugh I got a good chuckle out of that one. We don't usually go all out for anniversaries but I figured since this was a big one I needed to start figuring out something special.

Once again, thank you for the suggestions.

Hudson's on the Bend. Very unique to Austin, wonderful food and a nice wine list.
