OP, good recommendations up above. But I also would skip Kirby Lane (& also the other 4 breakfast recommendations) in favor of 4-6 Taco Joints (that serve Breakfast Tacos) or even a good Dive Breakfast at Taco Arrandas or La Tapatilla.

If you're near the Campus at Lunch Time, I'd put Texas Chili Parlour (15th & Lavaca) or Dirty's (Guadalupe & 29th St) on your list of possibilities.

Sorry, but Hillside comes with too big a serving of Austintude to make it enjoyable. The servers look at you like your dog just dumped on their floor. Too many good places for me to put up with that.

But YMMV.

I've been several times, various sized parties, breakfast and dinner and I have never had anything but great service and excellent food.
