Default Dallas has lower tax rate then Austin

I was just on the Dallas board, they seem to have a much lower tax rate then Austin does. Example: Flower Mound 2.06, Plano 2.07. Does anybody know the reason? plus you seem to get more house for the money in Dallas too.

From a brief scan of the Dallas Central Appraisal District, I get the following rates from random residential addresses:
Lancaster 2.712414
DeSoto 2.766944
Dallas 2.514757
Richardson 2.482424

Flower mound and Plano are not in the Dallas Appraisal territory, so not sure what they are. They are not Dallas, though, so maybe you are not comparing apples to apples? My Austin rate last year was right around 2.5% and very close to those above....

Just tried to use the Denton County site for Flower mound...not nearly as friendly as most county tax sites, but it appears that the taxes are:
Flower Mound ~2.3% (with the possibility of various small taxing entities).
Plano ~2.37%

Edit:
Sunset valley (with no city Tax but surrounded by Austin) is ~2.11%
Westlake (also inside Austin limits) is ~2.27%

Out in Georgetown, which might be comparable:
In the city: ~2.14%
County: ~1.88%

But Dallas isn't Austin. You pay more to live here because it is a better quality of life. It's such a rat race up there. I'll pay 2.50 to not have to live in Dallas.

[color="Green"]I got these numbers off the Dallas board that someone posted. When I say Dallas I mean any burbs in Dallas too. Just like most people say they live in Austin when they really live in Round Rock, it is still the city of Austin

Flower Mound: 2.05
Carrollton in Dallas county: 2.55
Carrollton in Denton county: 2.22
Frisco: 2.13
Little Elm: 2.23
Plano: 2.07
Garland 2.50
Sales tax is 8.25

Dallas tax rates are very comparable to Austin. Many places it's higher in Dallas.
