Lake Travis is already at 645 and rising, expected to hit 649 or higher. That's the 10 feet rise I predicted over the 638 ft folks!

Travis/Mansfield May 24 2015 10:30AM 645.35

Lake level forecast (Forecast is subject to change as conditions develop): Lake Travis is expected to rise to 646-649 feet over next 24 hours.

Lake Travis has risen 7 feet in the past 12 hours. All four lanes of Mansfield Dam boat ramp are now open. Jones Brothers Park is near opening, but they need another 6 inches of water for that.

There's something that's big'n round & yellowish orange in the sky right now. Anybody know what that thing is?

Oh thank goodness. The lake has risen, so please. A break from the rain. This thunderstorm caused a lot of damage.

We still need another 30 feet rise before we can relax. Three more storms like last night then shut off the skies and get us back to sun and heat!

riaelise, were you here during the drought years?

That information is totally amazing.

Also, picture on KVUE of Lake Travis when scrolling through pictures.

I was here during the recent drought years, particularly 2011. They were indeed bad, no disagreement there. It's just that it swings from one extreme to the other at times....this last storm really did a number on my old neighborhood. Amazingly though, my old house appeared to suffer no damage while the other neighbors had assorted issues.

Happy for y'all down there. Parents said the lake is higher now than it has been since 2011. Hope it keeps up! And recharge those springs.

Texas weather = swings from one extreme to another! Gentle predictable cycles we will never have.
