Default Rural areas within 30 minutes of East Central Austin?

Looking for an area where we could live on 1 or preferrably more acres and outside of a subdivision. We have been considering Webberville, Manor, and maybe even as far as Bastrop. I am wondering if Bastrop is really 30 minutes outside of East Central Austin like Google maps says. Is traffic okay commuting in from the East side? Are there other areas we should look at within 30 minutes or so of East Central Austin?

I think Bastrop is a little bit South East of Central Austin and yes it's about that far. Actually, the mile sign right in town says 25 miles to Austin. The traffic is o.k coming from East I believe, but are you communting into downtown? I live East of Austin, but North and I hear from many who do commute in (I'm a stay at home mom for the most part) that it's not bad. Pflugerville, Round Rock maybe.

love roses, thanks. My husband will only have to go to the East side, near Hwy 183 and the airport. I'll be looking for a job based on where we end up living.
