Theres a good middle eastern restaurant in College Station to service the students/faculty there. Pretty good food!

Shiraz Shish Kabob

Also theres a Persian restaurant in Austin. I havent eaten there myself so I cant vouch for it.

I miss the thin crust pizza cut up in squares, that is awesome. I ate that more than anything, only had deep dish a few times as well. Now, i'm in NYC and I love the Pizza here as well(but nothing beats the Chicago thin-crust). Like the other posters said, deep-dish isn't eaten regularly. I took my wife to Chicago for the first time a few years ago and Pizzeria Due was disappointing.

PD and UNO are way overhyped and too touristy....Giordano's would be the best, far as I'm concerned........

Reason Chicago thin crust is so good is the way they bake the crust and the cheese/pasta base together with the extras...such a perfect, scrumptious pie........

If anyone is interested, out of curiousity, here is Giordano's website, if you want to see the best Pizza Pie in the country....you can debate all you want about NYC or Philly's Pie, but G's is the best in the land...

Giordano's World Famous Stuffed Pizza (http://www.giordanos.com/main.php - broken link)

Want one mail order from Chicago?.....check this out...

If you want to know a little something about inthecut, I used to order the thin crust 12 inch every Sunday night for myself when I worked nights in DT Chicago from the menu below, with Sausage.....and ate the whole damn thing myself, up in the 88th floor of the Sears Tower(Jackson location)...and yes, it does move around that high like a cruise ship...I got sort of sea sick for several months till I got used to it.....

Giordanos is my favorite. I also like Eduardos(not sure if its still open) and Gino's east is pretty good too.

Edwardos is still very much open, and has hands down the most creative Pizzas around....I mean, Tex Mex Pizza? How cool is that?

Check out the menu and see what I mean......they would make a fortune if they had a few Austin locations...I should try to get them out here!

There used to be a Lucky Dog on Spicewood Springs that was decent. Heard about the one in Round Rock. Any Chicagoins out there tried it? Anything similar in South Austin?

Some of my favorite places in Chi-town:

Portillos (They ship!)
Johnny's (Elmwood Park)
Michael's (Oak Park)
Buona Beef
Yes I was just at Luck Dog's yesterday and it was great. I am from Chicago and it is the real thing. I will give you there phone no, I like to order ahead. 828-4300 it at 2000 s. Ih35 in the Hester crossing shopping center.
