Solari is on a distinguished road
Default Country living in Kyle, Texas

I noticed that EAST of IH-35 where 21 meets 150 the homes are not butted up against one another like in a subdivision. It seems that there are no fences around the property and it is very open. Would anybody happen to know if this is a safe area to move to. I'm not really finding a whole lot of information on this area. Any insight you may have will help me out tremendously. Thanks, so much.

I'm a statistic searcher and from what city data says about Kyle, the sex offender ratio is way too high. The ratio of number of residents in Kyle to the number of sex offenders is 73 to 1. I know I wouldn't want to raise kids there.

There are many remote areas of Texas that haven't become so populated yet but if you have to live near a big city, I guess the pickings would be slimmer.

Could I ask where you got that stat?
We live pretty close by and have friends there who have never mentioned it or had any trouble or even heard of any trouble.
Could it be the fact that there's a prison in Kyle and that skewed the statistic?
Just curious

On the country living part of the post, west side is much nicer than the east side of 35, but of couse is more expensive to get a larger lot..
Cheers

east of Kyle is mainly trailer parks and colonias. There is definitely a social stigma in Hays Co. with living east of I-35. I'd personally avoid it.

there are many neighborhoods in these un-incorparated areas of the county where the attitude is "live and let live'..............if you don't want your neighbors telling you what to do with your property and you keep your mouth shut about what they do with theirs....you might find it a great place to live

People should keep their mouth shut if they know their neighbor is sexually offending someone? I'm just not clear on your post.

I am unclear on your post. Did you mean sexually offended or offending?

One implies that they have been convicted of a crime, gone to jail and served some time, and been released back into society. The other implies that sexual abuse is continuing to go on while someone with knowledge of it withholds it from authorities.

Anyways, they were referring to personal property.

Kyle stats:
There were 73 registered sex offenders living in Kyle in early 2007. The ratio of number of residents in Kyle to the number of sex offenders is 73 to 1. (list http://www.city-data.com/so/so-Kyle-Texas.html)

Dripping Springs stats:
There were 4 registered sex offenders living in Dripping Springs in early 2007. The ratio of number of residents in Dripping Springs to the number of sex offenders is 443 to 1. (list http://www.city-data.com/so/so-Dripp...ngs-Texas.html)

This is public information, and you can set up a "watch" for your neighborhood to be notified when a sex-offender moves in/out of your area. You better be sure that I know what they look like and where they live. National Sex Offender Registry

I live in NewEngland and the only time I have heard of Kyle TX was when my bank contacted me to say that someone had stolen my identity (from a supermarket breach here) and was going crazy using my card at Walmart and a supermarket and a gas station there.
