If you were to purchase an RV where would you go in Central Texas, or would you go somewhere outside of Central Texas?

Thank you for any input you may have.

The RV outlet mall in Georgetown has been pretty good everytime I have had to deal with them for parts or service for our travel trailer.

Thanks mikem1977 for your input. I realize everyone might have a different experience but sometimes overall there are good places to shop for certain things. Whenever we move to a new place it is always trial and error to find the "good" places for car repair, home improvement, et cetera. I'm not going to pay Angie to help me find services so I ask on the forum.

There are still places that have good reputations. It's finding those places that is the trick.

From a further back perspective, I would also consider looking at used RVs. Yes, they may have some age issues, but they cost a lot less. Many people decide to sell because they no longer (or never did) use them enough to justify the cost (and storage), not because they are old or worn out.

Just a thought . No idea on reputable places, but the one in G'town has been there a long time, so I guess that is a good sign.

We bought ours from Camper Clinic II in Buda. We were really turned off by the sales people at Crestview just across the road from Camper Clinic. Now, I would buy used and buy from PPL in New Braunfels if they had a unit I wanted. You can look at floorplans and pictures on their web site. Do a search on PPL motorhome sales. They have 3 locations and sell all types of units. My sis just got a NICE class B from the New Braunfels location.

i also was turned off by crestview and camper clinic. i wanted to buy from stahmanns in new brainless, but the used road trek i was looking at new appeared. so i found it in arizona, flew out there, bought it and drove it back. i'm still planning to use stahmanns for service.

if you're looking at small campers, then princesscraft in far north austin (round rock or georgetown) has a great selection. their web site has a lot of units on show, and their lot is well stocked. good luck.

Default RV Show Dell Diamond

Fall RV show October 30 to November 1st at Dell Diamond.

Great time to see several dealers in one location. Also some great deals on end of season 2015 models.
I have enjoyed RV's since early 1960's. While you can save money on a used RV I would look close at a new unit first. No Car fax type program on RV"s. Reason for sale is not always noticeable. New units have a minimum 1 year bumper to bumper warranty. In addition if an RV company goes bankrupt resale value drops big. Crestview and RV Outlet carry good long time brands. Keystone has been around long time and really responsive to warranty issues. RV Outlet not as good as others in 20k or less units. But their higher end product excellent.I would choose Crestview if you are looking under 20k. Please read carefully on PPL. Easy to put lipstick on pig. That does not mean they are not reputable.
Keystone brands are the best in my humble opinion.
Have fun shopping. Camping great time to spend time with kiddos.
