Default Help choosing Round Rock Neighborhood

Hi All,

I recently relocated to Round Rock and I am looking to purchase a home in the area. I work in the downtown Round Rock area and would like to keep my commute reasonable (<25 mins).

We have focused on the following areas:

Forest Creek
Sonoma
Round Rock Ranch
Stone Canyon
Brushy Creek

We are currently considering homes in Round Rock Ranch and Stone Canyon. Does anyone have any opinions on either of these? We don't plan on being in the home for more than 3 years so not losing money is important to us. Perhaps we could even make some?

Also, does anyone have any other areas we should be looking. We recently looked up in the 1431/Parmer area. How is the commute to downtown Round Rock from there? Is that area a better investment?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I would look into other areas if your only going to be living in the house for 3 years. Its a huge chance and i have seen many people go to the closing table with a check just to sell their house. RR has construction going on that you will be competing with other builders when you decided to sell. It could work our it could go really bad. Look at your closing cost and appreciation for the last 3 years for a subject house in one neighborhood and see if the numbers would work today. This will give you a idea but 3 years is a long time but for most newer homes in RR its not enough....
