Yeah that's too far of a drive. Austin Metro is spread out. Jollyville area is 65 miles from New Braunfels. A drive like that twice a day would get old fast, and you can be sure to expect days when the traffic backs up for miles because of a wreck or some other reason. Far South Austin - Interstate 35, Slaughter Lane, exit # 227, is about 40 miles to New Braunfels. I think Kyle is about 28 miles to NB, and San Marcos less than that.

Actually, Jollyville would be about the furthest area you could be from New Braunfels, in the entire Austin Metro area, with the possible exceptions of Georgetown, Cedar Park and Leander.

I believe youd be wise to think long and hard before making a commitment to a job that is 65 miles from home and goes through one of the most congested stretch of interstate highways in the entire nation.

I used to live in NW Austin on FM2222 area (by the 3M plant) and worked in south New Braunfels. Commuted for about a year until I couldn't handle the time spent in the car anymore. If you traveled in somewhat normal hours, you go the opposite of most rush hour traffic but it still is unpredictable. Why don't you look into living in New Braunfels or San Marcos? I loved New Braunfels, lived there over ten years. If my husband's job would transfer us back, I'd be there in a heartbeat. Even though it's growing a little too fast for my liking, it's a wonderful place to live.
