We are looking into building a storage shed under 15 sq ft in our backyard. We live in a neighborhood down the street from the Austin Zoo in 78736. We are in the ETJ. It will have no water or utilities. Only a solar light. No concrete slab. What kind of permit do we need to get, if any, to build said shed?

I live in your area too and I don't believe you need any permit for that. We've had several construction projects done including an extensive back porch build and so far, nothing has required a permit except septic work. If you find out something different please be sure to update us here!

In Texas, that's not a shed...that's a footlocker

If you're in an HOA in one of the newer built communities, as there are a couple by the zoo, you need to get HOA approval, not permit from a city.
