$100/weekly. 2 ppl.

No dishes, no laundry, change sheets on master bed.

3400 sq ft house but we only have them clean downstairs weekly.

Every 4-6 weeks, I have them clean upstairs (guest bedroom, game room, excersize room, 2 bathrooms) +$50

They vary from being just OK to great. What I've learned over the years is housecleaners start off great then go downhill from there. My current biggest gripe is that they put thing back in the wrong place when cleaning shelves, desktops, etc.

First world problems.

You have to continually "manage" them to do things they way you want.

@ Eirenecat - is it just one person or a team? If a team, can you share their contact details
It is just one person. She is the wife of the maintenance supervisor that our rental property management employs. (We have one rental house.) She does a decent job, sometimes a great job, and occasionally a terrible job.

She is the first one we have had who did not steal medication, alcohol, eat our food, or some combination of all three. My late, great German Shepherd ***** who died last July was on prescription pain medication in her last years which was also a human medicine--nothing made me angrier than someone stealing my ancient, arthritic dog's pain meds!

Wow.. and double wow.. stealing dog medicine.. thats a bit much, isnt it! who does that.. so far, i havent noticed any of these issues. Thanks anyway.. one person wouldnt work for us.. I dont like to give keys to cleaning people so they typically come when at least one of us is working from home..tried one person a few times and she took 5 hours.. cant have that so now, we have a crew of 4 who knock it out in less than 2 hours and do a reasonably good cleaning except no laundry and potentially bringing a snake into my house...

A question for y'all who have fired house cleaners and hired new ones - do you change your locks every time, or how do you handle that?

We no longer give housecleaners our keys, and any kind of precription drugs we have for which there is a market for abuse, I carry on my person on the days our house is cleaned.

We have never given keys to cleaners.. Its just not something I feel comfortable with.. a stranger having keys to my house and can get in whenever they want.. i know, I'm paranoid :-)

So we always schedule the cleaners on days that someone can be home and is typically in the mornings

Pay $0 for a 3700 sq ft home. I'm probably cheap. I just clean it myself.
