Salt Lick 360 on 360/2222.

Further south, County Line on the hill, and Opal Devine's Penn Field.

And anything downtown -- especially this time of year. Many places have outdoor patios which are great, might not be hill country views but great downtown/people views. Dona Emilias, Opal Devine's 6th street, Z Tejas 6th street, Iron Works Waller creek, Vespaio SoCo, all the Barton Springs Rd restaurant row patios... too many to list.
We went to Z Tejas Arboretum yesterday for lunch. It was closed for construction. Don't know how long...

For good (not great) mexican food, great fish tacos, great tamales & amazing views (from their deck), give Berryhill's (across the street/cattycorner from Salt Lick on 360).

We like to go there at 11-12 on weekends after taking the 2 1/2 mile hike in City Park (or a hike in Wild Basin). Food is better than the Oasis, is cheaper, & the views out west are amazing. I'm surprised more don't mention it as a "view" destination.

Berryhill Baja Grill - We put the Ahhhh in Baja! (broken link)

hmmm....i think i'm going to do this this weekend.

I need to go try the new location.

I know that Waterloo across the street has a nice outdoor patio (views of homes though) & of course is great for the kids to romp. Good breakfasts too.

Looks like not (http://www.ztejas.com/locations.php - broken link). Unless their website is out of date. They're a local restaurant that went regional.
