Does anyone have a favorite dealership and salesperson at the local Ford or Honda dealerships? Would prefer central or north. Would also be interested in service departments info.

I like both Howdy Honda (south) and First Texas Honda (central-north), bought cars at each, serviced cars at both too.

First Texas has no haggle pricing and one of the biggest service centers in the world, something like 100 service bays. Always fast service.

I bought a Honda last year at Howdy Honda. I was looking at truecar.com and they had a really great deal at a zip code that sounded like First Texas Honda, so I brought the quote to Howdy to see if they would meet/beat it and they did. The sales rep was really easy to deal with and I was surprised at how easy it was to buy from them.

Then the finance guy asked us if we wanted to buy the extended warranty. My husband immediately said no, then after a pause I asked "are you sure?" We debated so the finance guy closed the deal by knocking a large percentage off for being "previous Honda customers". We typically buy an extended warranty from an outside company and Honda's deal was way better.

It was the best car buying experience I've had from a dealer and we've bought lots of cars. (new and used)

Similar experience for us, so much so that HH is our starting point any time we are looking to buy a car.
- Sales people are very low pressure - no 'sharking' the parking lot looking to pounce on you;
- Extended warranty is held by Honda (not 3rd party), which is huge based on what we hear from people with 3rd party warranties (also, transferable and you can get a pro-rated refund if you cancel it).
- Finance and sales people actually seemed intelligent/competent - we had gone in with a researched price that we though was a fair 'out the door' cost for a vehicle. They quickly and competently back-calculated the sales price so that after all was said and done, that was our final cost. Tried that at several other dealerships and (either due to incompetence or intentional subterfuge) the 'out the door cost always ended up much higher once they sat down to finance.

Now, I am sure there are places that are their equivalent, but haven't found them yet. We might end up paying a bit more, I am not sure, but it has been worth the money, imho.

Ofc, they are in south Austin, so not all the useful for the OP, I suppose .

Tried First Texas years and years ago, but no recent experience.

We just bought a new 2017 Honda Accord from the Round Rock Honda dealer. Used the Costco program, so it was a good deal & very pleasant experience. Trish was our sales person. Very nice lady & very competent.
Prior to this car, we had been buying new GM products for 49 years.

I had a positive experience with Covert Ford Hutto last Spring. So much that I bought 4 cars from the same salesman within a months time.
